Bay Area Senior Sales Consultant

Responsibilities:
The Senior Sales Consultant role will be responsible for all relevant territory sales activities for Kapa Biosystems. The role is to establish and ensure achievement of territory based sales objectives and direct sales activities through both strategic and tactical activities. While the position will be based in the Bay Area, sales activities may be throughout the western US and will cover academic, biotech and pharma accounts. Further duties include but are not limited to:
- Develops high value customer accounts through the sale of Kapa’s product portfolio.
- Provides regular and accurate sales forecast updates to Sales Director, as well as company management.
- Develops a customized strategic and tactical territory sales plan with Sales Director.
- Ability to grow and manage regional team as required.
- Negotiate all key account sales in territory and generate associated sales contracts and quotations, coordinating activities with Sales Director.
- Follows internal corporate procedures for quoting, pricing, etc.
- Maintain proficiency in PCR methodologies.
- Maintains an effective, professional working relationship with internal customers and product development groups.
- Assists in the design of marketing and promotional materials.
- Submit business development opportunities to management.
Skills & Requirements:
The candidate should have a minimum of the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years sales experience.
- Located in the Bay Area.
- BA/BS, MS degree and/or PhD in Life Sciences.
- Skills include a working knowledge of DNA amplification including PCR, real-time PCR, reagents, and other DNA modifying enzymes.
- Proven track record in sales in the biotechnology tools space.
- Well developed professional and strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts through networking at all levels of the customer organization.
- Highly motivated and successful individual who enjoys a challenging and dynamic work environment.
- Strong desire to win business and establish long term customer relationships.
- Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to participate in the many facets of a start-up environment are essential.
