The majority of qPCR reagents contain “wild-type” enzymes, isolated from nature without modification, and never intended as tools for molecular biology. The performance differences among commercial qPCR kits are the result of differences in buffer formulation and/or enzyme concentration.

Our reagents are different. Kapa Biosystems employs directed evolution technologies to optimize DNA polymerase function specifically for qPCR applications. Our portfolio of high-performance qPCR products contain novel enzymes that confer significant improvements to reaction efficiency, sensitivity, speed and signal-to-noise ratio.
